Staying Connected is a social networking site for Staying Alive Grantees who have been funded by the Staying Alive Foundation. The Foundation supports small organisations around the world by giving them small sums of money to support their exceptional work addressing HIV and AIDS in their communities.

Staying Connected has been funded by ViiV Healthcare’s Positive Action, as part of a larger training grant, so that grantees can exchange information, update each other on news, and access important resources to help sustain the vital work they carry out.

The Staying Alive Foundation grew out of MTV Networks International’s award-winning Staying Alive Campaign.  Launched in 1998, the Staying Alive Campaign is the world’s largest, youth focused HIV & AIDS prevention mass-media campaign. The campaign consists of documentaries, public service announcements, youth forums and web content produced for young audiences worldwide and available to third party broadcasters rights and cost-free. Following the success of the campaign, the Staying Alive Foundation was launched in 2004 as a public charity to support young people engaged in grassroots HIV and AIDS prevention projects to take forward and expand the work of the Staying Alive Campaign.

The Staying Alive Foundation works with a variety of partners, from both public and private sectors, including The Body Shop, Positive Action (through ViiV Healthcare), H&M, Hard Rock Café, Karmaloop, Student Partnership Worldwide, UNAIDS, and UNICEF among others.
